Making a Splash

This unique sculpture is a combination of hand-built components made from stoneware clay. The carved waves and fish are first painted with slips, and the overall surface is achieved by applying an artist-made semi-matte glaze; wiping these highlights created the worn look of a found object. Signed on the bottom, this piece is one-of-a-kind. Matte finish Ceramic: fired at cone 6, vitrified One-of-a-kind piece Signed by the artist Materials: Stoneware
