Bullseye Moth (Antherina Suraka)

This “vegan taxidermy” wall art sculpture is completely made from clay. The bullseye moth symbolizes transformation and protection. Handmade with porcelain and stoneware and fired to 2300 degrees, its surface cracks are created by using a special drying technique. Only a small amount of soda ash is added for a satin finish and to keep the process more eco-friendly. Minimal glaze is used as the artist prefers clay oxides/stains for colorant.
